You Make Me Feel Like I Am Young Again
Valentine's Day has come and gone and thankfully we single gals have survived the atrocity! Phew! But before we move on and pretend like it was all just a bad dream I'd like to present to you my Valentine's Day inspired outfit. I say Vals Day inspired but it's just a pink jumper...by no means is it Vals Day specific but as the sun was shining yesterday and love was supposedly in the air (puke), pink seemed the most appropriate colour.
If I'm honest, I'm not much of a pink lady....it's not that I don't like the colour, I think pink can look very classy and stylish on certain people but I do think it is a bit of a tricky one because there is always the danger of looking like a Barbie or about 5 years old and I'm not about that life haha! Saying that, I do love pink and leather!! They go so well together as the leather toughens up the girlieness of the pink. If I ever wear pink it will be with some touch of leather and for those of you that have been following my blog for a while, you might remember that pink Missguided crop and midi skirt outfit I wore with trainers and a leather jacket...clearly that is the only way I know how to wear pink lol.
What I particularly like about this look though is the play between sophistication (tailored jacket and leather skirt) and youthfulness (pink jumper and trainers). I normally dress quite "adult" or occasionally hood rat so it was nice to mix it up and add some fun and youth to my outfit with a touch of colour (just a touch though...everything else is still very monochrome, I mean we wouldn't want to get carried away lol). And I even tried to curl my hair, which is way more effort than I ever really put into hair routine but I thought it would suit the pink...going a bit more cute than normal (well if I'm honest, my hair is so long now and in such need of a cut that curling is the only thing I can do to make it look kinda normal....good technique to hide split ends).
Anyhoo that's about it. I hope you all had a nice Vals Day yesterday. I spent it with family and had lots of food to drown my sorrows in lol! Now I need to try and organise this bomb site I call my home. Wish me luck. Lots of love xo
