Shades Of Grey
Hello Friday and HELLLOOOOOO sunshine!! I love London with some sun and this coming weekend is looking like it’s gonna be bright and beautiful. I can’t wait!! Now that the weather has finally improved, I’m trying to add some lighter shades to my daily looks. When I say lighter, I mean white and grey haha. Yes, my obsession with grey continues. I’ve slowly started incorporating grey into all areas of my life. My flat is mostly decorated in grey, I just bought some grey marble coasters that cost me a bomb from the US, I’m shopping for more grey pieces e.g. this delightful grey shawl cardie and my boyfriend has even dyed his hair grey haha. All the pieces are falling into place! I’ve never had a favourite colour before (I find picking one such a weird concept) but at the moment, I’m really feeling grey. I just think it’s the best colour because other than black and white, it is one of the easiest colours to create a classy and cool outfit with so little effort. As it’s neutral, it goes with almost everything and playing around with shades gives you different results. This quote explains it best:
“From a color psychology perspective, gray is the color of compromise - being neither black nor white, it is the transition between two non-colors. The closer gray gets to black, the more dramatic and mysterious it becomes. The closer it gets to silver or white, the more illuminating and lively it becomes”.
See, it’s awesome! So while most people see grey as a dull, lifeless and boring colour, I see so much beauty in it because if it’s versatility. I always love the underdog lol (even though grey is very trendy in interior design at the moment and for hair styles too). What’s your favourite colour and why?
Have a great weekend everyone! Make sure you get out in the sunshine at some point xo
