Postcards From | Abuja 2016

So much to post and so little time. I have so many posts to catch up on but before I do, I just wanna do a quick shout out to my hometown Abuja, Nigeria. I went back for a week at the end of May, to touch base before I'm thrown into the craziness of starting a new job. It's also lovely going back to see my family, all the kiddies are growing up so fast! Plus, it's great to see how my country and community are progressing in person - a long way to go still but our culture is so strong, we can prevail and conquer.  One of the most fun things about going home is my Mum and I spend time going round markets and playing around with outfits and fashion. And this time I really got to reinvent myself. New hair alert!! But man those braids are painful!! My Mum is my biggest cheerleader and really supports me experimenting with my style. Thanks for being my personal photographer for the week Mama, you're the best! Oh and I didn't mention the food!! Nigerian food is one of the best (tied with Italian - I may be biased though haha). I spend most of my time eating all the delicious things I miss out on in London - I couldn't fit back into my jeans by day 3 of my trip haha. Anyway, just wanted to give you a little flavour of my original home - it was so amazing growing up there, I'm very lucky to have had that experience. I do miss it a lot but I've acclimatised to life in London so much that I don't know if I could ever move back there permanently. I like just popping in and out once in a while. But never say never ;)

Anyhoo, have a wonderful evening everyone. I've purposely brought the sun out today with my African post :) I'm off to get tomorrow's post underway so need to scuttle off now! Byeee xo
